Place {{tl|FAQ notice}} at the beginning of an FAQ page to identify it as a page dedicated to frequently asked questions about a specific subject and provide a link to the corresponding main article.

The first unnamed parameter should contain the exact title of the main article.

The {{para|free}} parameter completely replaces the default notice text.

When {{para|free}} is filled in, the standard text and automatic main-article sentence are not displayed.

: The title of the main article associated with the FAQ page. The template automatically links this page in the default notice text. This parameter is required unless {{para|free}} is used.

; {{para|free}}
: Optional fully custom notice text. When this parameter is filled in, it completely replaces the default notice text.

== Notes ==
The value of the first unnamed parameter should normally be the exact page title rather than manually formatted wiki markup.

For example:

rather than:

</pre>

The {{para|free}} parameter accepts normal wiki markup, including links and formatting.

If custom text contains a vertical bar character, use {{tl|!}} in place of the bar so the template does not misread it as a parameter divider.
