Grigoripedia:General disclaimer

From Grigoripedia

Perspective disclaimer

Grigoripedia is the official wiki encyclopedia of the Grigorist Temple of Satanael. It documents beliefs, practices, and other aspects of Satano-Grigorism, including theology, cosmology, terminology, history, and methods of worship. It also contains information written from a Satano-Grigorist perspective about external traditions and ideas that are relevant to Satano-Grigorist studies.

Readers of Grigoripedia should be mindful of context and perspective. Because Grigoripedia is a Satano-Grigorist wiki, editors do not always use clarifying phrases such as "according to Satano-Grigorism," "Satano-Grigorists believe," or "in Satano-Grigorist theology" when writing on Grigoripedia; the repetition of such phrases would be highly cumbersome and redundant. Unless the article explicitly states otherwise, any statements about beings, events, revelation, religious history, and other matters of Satano-Grigorist belief are to be understood as specifically representing the Satano-Grigorist perspective. Readers should not assume that external individuals or traditions agree with any given statement made on Grigoripedia, or that the same beliefs are affirmed by other religions, academic scholars, or other individuals or groups external to Satano-Grigorism. This includes articles about topics external to Satano-Grigorism: statements made in such articles represent the Satano-Grigorist view of said topics and traditions, unless another perspective is specified or the claim is basic and easily objectively verifiable with no legitimate room for debate (e.g. "the Gospel of Matthew was written in Greek.")

In general, where Grigoripedia states "X," unless the context specifically denotes that X is something believed only by other traditions or debated among Satano-Grigorists, one can safely assume it is objectively true that "Satano-Grigorists believe X," but one cannot safely assume it is objectively true that "everyone believes X."

Some articles on Grigoripedia may contain statements that are critical of other religions, organizations, individuals, ideologies, practices, or views. Such criticism represents Satano-Grigorists' ideological disagreement with the ideas, claims, or values of the group, individual, etc. that is being criticized. Critical statements are not intended as personal attacks, harassment, or calls to action of any kind.

Some articles may explicitly reserve one or more sections for other traditions' views on the article's subject. When views of other traditions or religions are reported in such designated sections, Grigoripedia editors do their best to present the topic with externally verifiable sources and a neutral tone. However, even in these sections, sentences that briefly compare and contrast these other views with Satano-Grigorist ones may appear.

Grigoripedia does not claim that statements of Satano-Grigorist theology, cosmology, or other beliefs represent facts that are universally accepted by everyone, nor does it claim that such statements are aligned with consensus in any given community or group of spiritual traditions. Claims about the spiritual have long been debated and disagreed upon by different individuals and groups throughout human history, so it is not unusual or surprising that some statements believed by Satano-Grigorists to be objectively true are contested by members of other traditions. Readers who are researching traditions and perspectives beyond Satano-Grigorism should not use Grigoripedia as their primary or only source on the topic; they should also consult any relevant primary sources, academic literature, and other sources as needed to gain a well-rounded view of such topics.

Grigoripedia's statements about what Satano-Grigorists believe and practice can be generally assumed to be authoritative, as Grigoripedia is a primary source managed by the Grigorist Temple of Satanael. For example, where Grigoripedia states that Satano-Grigorists worship Satanael and the 200 Watchers, this is objectively true: such worship is a codified aspect of the Satano-Grigorist religion. However, as stated in the Accuracy Disclaimer below, errors are possible.

Accuracy disclaimer

Grigoripedia is edited by multiple Satano-Grigorist volunteers who make their best good-faith efforts to produce accurate information. However, it should not be assumed that all of Grigoripedia's editors are experts on all aspects of Satano-Grigorism. Most editors are not Elders of the Grigorist Temple of Satanael, and even Elders can make mistakes. As such, it is possible that errors may be present in content on Grigoripedia, despite the team's efforts to prevent them. Those who find errors or become confused by Grigoripedia's content are encouraged to email wiki@satanael.org for clarification or correction, or to make a post on the talk page of the article in question.

Articles are frequently revised to add further detail, to reflect changes in the Temple's understanding of a particular topic, or to correct errors. Older revisions of articles may contain outdated or incorrect information that is no longer accurate to Satano-Grigorist beliefs. Readers should take the most recent or current version of an article as authoritative unless otherwise specified.
