Šamadānu
Appearance
Šamadānu, commonly called by the inaccurate names Asmodeus or Ashmedai, is a son of Asbe'el and a very powerful repha (the disembodied soul of a nephil who lived and died on earth). He is honored by some Satano-Grigorists with rituals and offerings. He is also worshipped by demonolators as a Goetic demon, and feared by many Christians as a powerful demon, due to corruption of his name and identity. These distortions first occurred through cultural exchange in the ancient Jewish world, and much later, further corruption arose from the imaginations of Goetic authors as they portrayed him in their grimoires.
