Templates are reusable pieces of wiki markup language used to format pages, display important notices, create navigation links, and automatically organize articles for maintenance purposes.

Templates are stored in the Template: namespace, and they can be added to pages by placing the template name inside double braces. For example:

Templates keep Grigoripedia consistent and professional by allowing the same message, layout, or formatting style to be reused on any page. They also make page creation and upkeep much easier.

Common templates

Article notices

  • {{Content warning}} — displays a notice that the content of the following article or subsection has been marked as mature or controversial.

These templates help readers move between related pages.

  • {{Main}} — links to the main article for a topic that has a section in another article.
  • {{See also}} — links to related articles.
  • {{Distinguish}} — notes that an article should not be confused with another topic.

Maintenance templates

Maintenance templates identify pages that need editing, expansion, cleanup, sourcing, or other work.

To create a new template, make a page in the Template: namespace. For example:

Template documentation should usually be placed inside tags so that the documentation appears only on the template page itself.
